Guided Species

Sturgeon is one of the oldest species of fish in existence, Sturgeons ranging from 7 -12 feet in length are by no means scarce, and some species grow up to 14 feet. Sturgeon are bottom-feeders. Depending on the season the bait selection may vary because Sturgeons are selective on their food. The best time to catch these fish are August to November and it is not uncommon to catch 10-20 in a day.

Sockeye is a species of the salmon family that live mostly in the sea and breed in fresh water. They can be as long as 33″ (84 cm) and weigh 6-8 lbs (2.5 to 3.5 kilos). Sockeye are said to be the tastiest of all the salmon species. The techniques to catch them are fly fishing. When they’re running it is not uncommon to catch 10-20 Sockeye salmon a day.

Steelhead is a species of trout that live mostly in the sea and breed in fresh water then returns back to the sea afterwards. They can reach up to 30 lbs but the average size is 6-16 lbs. They are considered themost prized fish in BC to catch. If you’re looking for a challenge this is the one. The best time to catch these fish are in the fall, late winter to early spring. The common techniques to catch Steelhead are fly fishing and drift fishing (ie. bait with roe, shrimp, wool and spinners).

Pink salmon or humpback salmon is a species of the salmon family that live mostly in the sea and breed in fresh water. It is the smallest and most abundant of the Pacific salmon. The techniques to catch these fish are fly fishing, casting with a pink lure.

Coho salmon are also known as silver salmon or “silvers”. This species of the salmon family that live mostly in the sea and breed in fresh water. It is the second smallest of the salmon species. The techniques to catch coho salmon are fly fishing, casting lures, drift
fishing and bar fishing.

Chum is a species of the salmon family that live mostly in the sea and breed in fresh water. Adult chum usually weigh anywhere from 4.4-6.6 kg, withan average length of 60 cm. When adults are near spawning, they have purple blotchy streaks on their sides.The techniques to catch Chum salmon are fly fishing, casting lures.

Chinook is a species of the salmon family that live mostly in the sea and breed in fresh water. It is the largest in the salmon family. Adult fish average 33-36″ (840 to 910 mm), but may be up to 58″ (1.47 m) in length; they average 10-50 lbs. (5 to 25 kg), but may reach 130 lbs.(50 kg). The techniques to catch Chinook salmon are fly fishing, bar fishing, casting lures and drift fishing.

Trout are usually found in cool, clear streams and lakes. As a group,trout are somewhat bony, but the flesh is generally considered to be tasty. Additionally, they provide a good fight when caught with a hook and line, and are sought after recreationally. The techniques to catch trouts are fly fishing (either with ‘dry fly’ or ‘wet fly’) and casting lures.
