Fraser River Salmon Fishing
Fraser River Salmon Fishing is world class. There’s five species of salmon that runs through the Fraser River. The most commonly known is the Sockeye salmon, they run usually at the beginning of July until mid September. When open the limit is two per day. The Chinook is the biggest of the salmon species, normally weighting between 10 to 50 pounds. They run starting in May and ending in November. When open the limit is one per day. The Pink Salmon comes up the Fraser River every two years. They come usually in the beginning of August and ends in October. When open the limit is two per day. The Coho Salmon starts in September and ends in December. Wild Coho Salmon is a protected fish and when fishing for Coho you can only keep hatchery fish, identified by their cut adipose fin. Last but not least there is the Chum Salmon which runs in October until November. These fish fight hard, they are excellent smoked, and the roe is the best for sturgeon fishing.
